This 227-acre National Historic Landmark is home to a variety of cultural exhibits, including the Starplex Amphitheater, the Dallas Aquarium, the Civic Garden Center, eight museums, a planetarium, a music hall and the Cotton Bowl. Landscaped walking paths and the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the US add to the park's appeal. Additionally, since 1886, this site has hosted the annual Texas State Fair.

NEAR IRVING. LB Houston Park and Nature Center contains four miles of walking, jogging and biking trails surrounded by trees and bordered by a river. Thanks-Giving Square is home to the Chapel of Thanksgiving; its horizontal, spiraling stained glass installation, known as the Glory Window, is simultaneously the chapel's roof and ceiling. Designed by architect Philip Johnson, the square itself opened in 1977 and now features gardens, courtyards, and fountains for serenity and reflection. The site has been visited by a number of religious leaders, including the Dalai Lama.

EAST DALLAS. Set on the shores of a reservoir constructed in 1911, this park serves as one of the city's most popular recreational areas. White Rock Lake encompasses over 1,000 acres of wooded parkland and features 9 miles of jogging and biking trails. Bird sanctuaries are located on the premises, along with wetland sites endorsed by the Audubon Society. In addition, the park provides scenic views and is host to a number of annual races, including the March of Dimes Walk America and White Rock Marathon runs. Fishing is a favored pastime as well.
